4×7 Cup gets Pickled
4×7 Cup - Saturday, June 25
By Jennifer Wood
On Saturday, June 25, the well-known Dawson’s 4×7 Cup team for Tacoma including Pat, Adot, Sean, and Ron C. welcomed Pickled Onion’s team of Brian, Mark, Carl, and Kevin.
We knew this would be the Cup NOT to miss, and boy did they prove it. Both teams shot exceptionally well, and many of the games came down to whichever team could make it to the board first. As we kept score, we watched almost every game go back and forth, Pickled Onion would win one, then Dawson’s and so on, and so on. There was never a dull moment.
Many fans were on hand to watch and cheer as the Limited Cup was playing at the same time just two boards down.
This 4×7 Cup match really felt like the Wimbledon of darts and after four long hours and all 33 games, Pickled Onion came out on top with a win of 17 to 16 games.
Congrats to Brian, Mark, Carl and Kevin, you shot one hell of a game. A very well-deserved win.

Saturday, July 16, 2024 - The Pickled Onion defended their 4×7 Cup when Oasis sent down a fierce bunch of competitors from Tacoma including Jason, Ray, Dave, and Karen. Dave was a true-life “Cup-Virgin”! Oasis came in as a 27, one point under but very confident.
Pickled Onion ran out with the same winning team of Brian, Kevin, Mark, and Carl.
Both teams started out shooting great darts, and split the first two games of stacked 901 to make the score 1-1. From there, the games went back and forth with each player taking big outs when necessary.
The Pickled Onion finally broke the deadlock in game #7 bringing the score to 4-3. But in game #10, Kevin from the Oasis took out a stellar Single 5 (we all know how hard that is) to tie it up once again!
Games #15 and #16 went to Oasis. Now the score was 9 -7, Oasis. They split the next two games, 10-8.
Suddenly the Pickled Onion went on a four-game winning streak, thanks to the sharp shooting of Kevin and Carl. Kevin, took out a Double 10 in game #22 to bring the score to 10-12, Pickled Onion!
Not to be outdone, Oasis retaliates with a four-game winning streak of their own, making the score 15-13 in their favor!
Pickled Onion responds by taking the final two games of Cricket and the first two games of stacked 901 to secure their very first defense of the 4×7 Cup!
See you soon at the Pickled Onion, Renton.
