Mixed Memorial Slam Dunk!

I battled a bit of I-5 traffic on April 7, 2024 to see Tacoma’s Home Plate defend their Mixed Memorial Cup.

Jim, Lisa, Willy, and Rachel were all warmed up and waiting for the arrival of the Inn Sportsbar’s team of Jeff Jr, Renee, Nick, and Tabatha.

The dedicated dart bar was already packed, with their In-house playoffs going on at the same time. Chili, cornbread, and various dessert bars were put out for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere at Home Plate was very friendly, festive, and jovial.

Home Plate started the match with two very impressive outs. Jim took a 164 and Lisa took a 114 for a quick lead. With their confidence boosted, and Willy’s own 124 out in game 12, Homeplate had a commanding 10-3 lead.

The Inn was not prepared to go down quietly. For their every win, the Home Plate put together two of their own. Eventually, the Home Plate crushed the Inn’s hope of leaving with the Mixed Memorial Cup that afternoon by taking the match, 17-6.

Willy’s birthday was officially highlighted by a dominant defense of the Mixed Memorial Cup.
