Pickled Onion takes the Novice Cup

What a day for darts! The Inn put up two of their Cups for challenge; the Novice Cup, and the Women’s Cup, which they had held onto for so incredibly long.

They found a challenger for not one, but both Cups, at the Pickled Onion Pub in Renton. With the makings of a great rivalry, the place was packed, spectators cheering on both sides.

The Inn’s Novice Cup team of Amanda, Jen, Wendy, and Lynsey were set to go up against Kevin, Laci, Krystina, and Richard from Pickled Onion. A race to 11, there is not much forgiveness, players cannot afford to have an “off” game. Both teams were able to shoot their best and take the opportunity to win games. Each team would win a couple back to back, with no obvious winner until the very last dart.

Everyone was on the edge of their seat watching a match with multiple lead changes. Finally tied up at nine games each, the Pickled Onion pulled out another back to back win and take the match, 11-9.
