America’s Tour Stage 4 Final

By Ty Hughes

The fourth and final stage of the 2013 America’s Tour wrapped up in beautiful downtown Honolulu at Hawaiian Brian’s Billiards.

Over 70 dart players from all over the country traveled to Hawaii over the weekend of November 15-17 2013. Some came to compete for the $5,000 Top Prize, while others were happy just laying witness to the level of skill and talent on display in a roomful of America’s best.

After a full day of Shootout to determine tournament seeding, the players were back at it early Saturday morning, playing for their very life. Tournament life, that is. Best two out of three meant one single loss and you we’re done, thanks for playing.

Quickly, the field narrowed to the Sweet 16, and then the Elite 8. For Stage 4, the Elite Eight were as follows:

Benjamin Dersch, Larry Butler, Raymond Carver, Scott Kirchner, Brad Porter, Gary Ramirez, Rommell Bumanglag, and Shaun Narain.

Even though the players were in good spirits and laughing it up, the competition was really heating up on stage. Left standing as the Best 4, and prepared to play in the semi-finals were Ray Carver, Scott Kirchner, Larry Butler, and Benny Dersch.

Larry put Scott out of the tournament in a best of seven match, and Benny put Ray out in the very next match.

The audience was glued to the action on the stage all day long. And now it was finally time to determine the winner of Stage 4.

Neck and neck in Total Tour Points, Larry and Benny battled not only for the $5,000 Stage prize, but also for the $5,000 Tour Champion prize.

Benny finally knocked off Larry in seven games to win the fourth and final stage, but Larry was named Tour Champion. Both took home $5,000 plus trophies.

DARTSLIVE’s dedication to quality is second to none, and the 2013 America’s Tour was widely considered to be a fantastic success. Next year will be even bigger and better, get in on the fun!
