Key changes at Kozy Tavern keeps them in the dart game

By Ty Hughes
The Kozy Tavern, Everett’s little bar that could, is officially back in the dart business!
After throwing in the towel a couple months ago, and giving up on darts altogether, Kozy owners, Judie and Butch, landed a hot shot Dart Coordinator in Mr. Stud himself, JR Evans. JR enjoys a strong following of dart players throughout the Everett and Marysville area.
He and his girlfriend Stephanie have been experiencing a bit of adversity with a little girl facing surgery. The fact that they could both still function, let alone smile and be friendly says a lot about these two.
Since moving into the Kozy Tavern, JR has inspired Judie and Butch to make some real changes to the dart room. They’ve moved their four dartboards to the other side of the room, spread them out some and installed a gigantic 70” flat screen TV on the opposite wall. The new layout really allows for better traffic flow and fung shui. As you enter the dart room, you’re usually going to come face to face with an entire smorgasbord laid out across the pool table. Dig In! Enjoy the hospitality, you’re at the Kozy now, relax!
Dave Bresee was in the house, chatting it up with JR and company. Who, by the way, is a great guy. Get in there and make some new friends. The Kozy is one of those hometown pubs where everybody opens their arms to you.
Michael Bird likes playing darts at the Kozy too. I’m pretty sure he’s one of the more traveled players out there.
Bernie, who retired from the bar, was absolutely on fire with amazing clutch darts. The entire bar was aghast by her that night. One by one, she knocked ‘em right out to take 4th place with Ron.
Lindsay and Ish swooped in for an admirable 3rd place. Willie and Tony let Dan and Jay beat them to take 2nd and 1st respectively. Congratulations guys!
JR is running an 11 Pt. Bring/Find on the 1st Saturday, and an 11 Pt. Cricket Only on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
He’s got five Money Pots going all the time! Buy in for a buck! See their ad for details.
