CLOUD 9; KENT, WA USA’s largest dart bar right in our own backyard

By Ty Hughes

Officially dubbed the nation’s biggest dart house by virtue of team count alone, the Cloud 9 in Kent is your number one source for everything darts. Congratulations to the whole team, and I do mean team, of folks that help to make this achievement possible, including but not limited to; Rick Clark, Robert Brown, Tia Russo, Ike and Amit Jouhal, plus a cast of hundreds!

They hit a team count for the current season of 59 teams! An incredible feat due to our slow economy and everything else that seems to affect this sort of thing. It takes a lot of patience, persuasion, and persistence to reach such a milestone. These guys work tirelessly to promote the game and the bar. The Cloud 9 features a fine fix of faithful customers that are diehard C9 fanatics. Every weekend night and certainly some weeknights, they show up in force, dump their quarters into the boards, enjoy a cocktail or four, and hob-nob with some of the greatest people on the planet.

It’s the people that keep this place interesting. The bar is bustling with party-people just about every night of the week (mostly dart players), and absolutely packed on the weekends.

DJ Headline is a big hit on Friday and Saturday night. Dude can mix like nobody else! So, the dance floor is busy all night long, and the party rages until morning. Ike and his staff, always on the premises, keep the bar safe and secure, usually mixing with the patrons in all things. Plus, they’ve got a dominant presence of security at the front door, so security has never been an issue here, just good ol’ times, all the time.

On Friday, February 6, Rick and the gang threw out a 701 Only invitation and corralled 23 teams for the occasion. We all thought it went over well, most everybody enjoyed the format.

Laughing out loud and party antics illustrated an evening at C9 when all their dart players were out in full effect. Check out the videos and tons of photos online at our new Web site www.themedallion.net and our Facebook page “Medallion”.

Cloud 9’s owner, Ike, actively mingles with the crowd. They’re all like his “kids”, and he truly loves all of ‘em. In fact, I heard somebody refer to him as “Papa” the other day. He enjoys a deep connection with his patronage - rare and appreciated by both parties.

The service is outstanding. Amit and Sumit, Ike’s sons, run the bar with help from our buddy Charissa, who just got married by the way, and plenty of other quality help. With regular weekly dart shoots Friday, Saturday, and now Sunday (see Cloud 9 ad for details), this bar is nearly always crawling with avid dart players. Pop in and make a deposit into your entertainment quotient. Find out for yourself why the Cloud 9 is a paradox among the rest in it’s category.
