All-New Western Washington Dart League takes sign ups

By Steve Fisher

Along with several recent new dartboard options available to Northwest players, there is also a brand new soft tip dart league currently signing up teams for Fall leagues. What has become known as the WESTERN WASHINGTON DART LEAGUES, or WWDL, is a joint effort by local vendors RJB Amusement, Target Darts and Datascore, Digital Music Systems and New Horizon Darts.

WWDL Fall League sign ups close Tuesday, September 11. Match play is scheduled to begin the week of September 23. There will be several choices each night from Sunday to Thursday, including Doubles, Trios, and Quad team options. Players will be rewarded with cash based on the final standings within their division. WWDL points earned will bring additional rewards and benefits, including special local events and tournaments, as well as qualification into the 1st Annual WWDL CELEBRATION OF DARTS Weekend in June 2013, with projected payouts of over $25,000,

WWDL players will become eligible to play in the Pearl Vodka 2013 Tournament Of Champions, November 9-13, 2013, and player rewards including free DARTSLIVE entries into future SEGA DARTSLIVE USA OPEN National Tournaments, two per year anticipated here in the USA.

The WWDL point-accumulation system also provides an incentive to locations and players to sign up for additional leagues during the year, either in-house, or in conjunction with other local bars. Players will appreciate the flexibility of scheduling, the number of teams participating, days of play, etc.

There are PPD (Points Per Dart) and MPR (Marks Per Round) rating conversion charts posted at each WWDL location.

All Doubles league team’s combined PPD and MPR averages cannot exceed 50 PPD or 5.4 MPR. Only one player can have averages exceeding 25 PPD or 2.7 MPR. Any player higher than 35 PPD may play as a 35.

All Trios league team’s combined PPD and MPR averages cannot exceed 75 PPD or 8.1 MPR. Only one player can have averages exceeding 25 PPD or 2.7 MPR. Any player higher than 35 PPD may play as a 35.

All Quad league team’s combined PPD and MPR averages cannot exceed 90 PPD or 9.6 MPR. Two players cannot have combined averages that exceed 60 PPD or 6.6 MPR. One female player required. Any player higher than 35 PPD may play as a 35.

In an effort to keep the teams close in points and proximity, all divisions will be scheduled based on points per team and geography. For example, If we have 16 teams in close geographic proximity to each other, the eight teams with the highest combined PPD will be placed in one division, and the eight lower combined PPD teams will be in another division.

All divisions will be handicapped based on the league format capabilities of the dart boards’ being used.

Full detailed information is available at each location featuring dartboards provided by either of the three operators listed above. Please direct any questions or comments to RJB Amusements (206) 340-3167, New Horizon Darts (425) 299-2979, Digital Music Systems (253) 852-9692.
