Match Madness at Just Left

By Steve Fisher

The Monthly Match Madness event had continued success Saturday, November 9 at the Just Left Pub in Lynnwood. Four person teams from ten great Seattle area DARTSLIVE locations came to the FREE entry fee event.

The Just Left Pub team from the host location came away with a dramatic victory over All Seasons Tavern from Tacoma coming out of the loser’s bracket and going down to the very last game.

Ron Elwood got up with a 107 out shot to win, while All Seasons had just gotten their score under 100. He hit the bull, missed the Trip 19 slightly leaving one dart for a double 19. He took his time and nailed it to win the traveling Match Madness cup, to the delight of his teammates and the Just Left Pub crowd.

Ten teams shared $1200.00! $720 alone went to 1st Place, $360.00 for 2nd, and $120.00 for 3rd.

Honorable mention to the Riverside Bowl from Mt. Vernon taking 4th trying to defend their October win.

Match Madness is a monthly event created by Western Washington Dart League members Digital Music Systems, RJB Amusements, and Pro-Am Darts. Players at participating locations earn points on the Touchlive system by playing one game on the Touchlive with their DARTSLIVE player cards at the beginning of each month.

Thereafter, players earn points by playing matches against other registered (Touchlive) players. At the end of each month, starting from the top, players are assembled from each location to play in the event. The location of the tournament is based on a drawing of the top 6 participating locations held the first couple days of each month. Generally, the tournament is held the 2nd Saturday of each month. For more information, please contact the above WWDL operators.

See you at next month’s Match Madness!
