Everett’s Riverside Cup

By Heather Kirkland
On November 16th, twelve dart players from Flights rolled into downtown Everett going head-to-head with team Lighthouse, hoping to capture the Riverside Cup.
What a tight and close match that was! Flights eventually won the match, and toted the Riverside Cup back up the road to their place.

America’s Tour Stage 4 Final

By Ty Hughes
The fourth and final stage of the 2013 America’s Tour wrapped up in beautiful downtown Honolulu at Hawaiian Brian’s Billiards.
Over 70 dart players from all over the country traveled to Hawaii over the weekend of November 15-17 2013. Some came to compete for the $5,000 Top Prize, while others were happy just laying witness to the level of skill and talent on display in a roomful of America’s best.
After a full day of Shootout to determine tournament seeding, the players were back at it early Saturday morning, playing for their very life. Tournament life, that is. Best two out of three meant one single loss and you we’re done, thanks for playing.

Friendship Cup sets sail in Kent

By Wil Burton
What started as an idea at the beginning of the dart season between two bar owners finally became reality on November 9, 2013.
Jeff, Monte Carlo, and Bobby, Pied Piper, came up with an idea to devise a cup between their two bars, and called it The Friendship Cup. They wanted it to serve as two cups; an A Flight, and a B Flight.

Home Plate files in and takes the Players Cup

Home Plate files in and takes the Players Cup

By Sheila Harris
On Sunday, October 27, two awesome teams came together to battle for the 44-point Players Cup.
Home Plate’s Jim, Willy, Frank, and Manny took on Starlite’s Rich, Craig, Christian, and Denny, who have held firmly onto the Players Cup since last June, weathering many encounters along the way.
Suffice it to say there were so many Hat Tricks, High and Low Tons from both teams, that the board never stopped chirping all day long.

Mama Shooter with a tip

Mama Shooter with a tip

You want a tip?
Here’s a tip: Dart players NEVER tip!
Put that in your pipe!
What the hell are you talking about? I have played for longer than most of you are old! I have played with, for, and against more people than most of you have in your Facebook friends list.
THEY TIP, THEY DON’T TIP, I heard the staff saying. When I was serving, I would never allow my fellow server’s tips on a table or group determine what I made. Every single day I walked in the door, my attitude determined what kind of night I was going to have, and how much I was going to make in tips. It had nothing to do with what you were doing in my bar, whether it was pool, darts, karaoke, or whatever, it just didn’t matter. Wipe down my table, take care of me and my friends, and your entire section - you will make your money. So what if they’re just drinking water! When I drink water, I still tip. If you served me, you’ll get a tip, unless I had to get it myself, of course.

REST IN PEACE BIKER JOE

REST IN PEACE BIKER JOE

Biker Joe will be sadly missed. Our prayers and thoughts go out to all his friends and family. He was one of a kind, they broke the mold when he came to be. One great man, but he’s with God now. He’s found happiness. Biker Joe blessed us all with his presence, generosity, and his friendship.

Memoriam: Dave Allston

Memoriam: Dave Allston

Dave, I’m really going to miss your sly smile and your always cool demeanor ~ Love, Tara Williams

Dave, I’ll never forget the first time we met. I went to The Inn to watch a friend shoot league. Your partner didn’t show. You were shooting B Doubles. I was a 2. You said something about a 2 being better than a dummy score. I didn’t know what you meant.
You let me shoot with you. I did okay, hit some, missed more. You didn’t stop smiling, you encouraged me the whole way. I was inspired to keep trying, you had to be frustrated, but didn’t show it. Our friendship was sealed.
