Cash giveaway at the Draft

By Ty Hughes

Jesse Bancaco has things pretty well covered over at the Draft Choice. Everything seems to be humming along nicely when it comes to darts.

Another of our favorite bars, the Draft Choice is like coming home to rest. They enjoy a good ol’ boy’s network at the Draft Choice that you definitely wanna be on the right side of. Probably true everywhere, but at least here, I think I’m on the right side.

Jesse’s a good friend, and pleasant sort of fella. But don’t think for a minute that you’re going to be able to take advantage of his good nature. He runs a tight ship and has complete control on dart night.

The tournament starts at 8:00pm SHARP! Regardless. No call-ins. You wanna play, you be here at 8pm, or you’re a spectator. This is vital to building a solid tournament. Something Jesse’s already done here, and continues to do. He’s one of those old-school coordinators and knows how to do it right.

Every Saturday night at 8:00pm, Jesse’s butt is in his regular stool, ready to take your five bucks. They switch things up pretty good here to keep it interesting. Nine and Unders, Cricketmania, and 12 and Under Brings. Always something new, but there is one common thread which might just have your head turning toward the Draft Choice next Saturday. Jesse’s giving away cash! Right now, he’s got almost $400 to give away to somebody who can throw a dart. Before every tournament, he sits on his throne, selling dreams. For just a buck, you’re in the running. These guys are serious about it too. Some guys are throwing $10 into the pot. It’s a gamble and somebody’s gotta win it - might as well be you!

Anyway, a couple times during every Saturday night tournament, Jesse will draw a name from the hat. That person chooses a poker chip that will have a D13, or a T6, or something on it. That person gets three darts to throw at that number. If he hits one, he gets twenty bucks. Two hits wins him another fifty, and three in the bed on that number earns him the whole pot! Now, without even looking at ya, I know you could use an extra $400 in your pocket!

Bo and Kevin each had a shot at it on May 7. Both of them nailed their number one time, profiting by a small margin. They were hoping for more, but they’ll be back.

There are a few new changes to the program at Draft Choice that need to be noted by all interested parties. First, you may have noticed, they’re not running anymore Parity Draw Shoots. “Didn’t catch on”, says Jesse. Which is too bad. I believe in the power of parity and it‘s influence on our sport.

Secondly, their 12 Point Bring is now a 12 & Under Team Max Bring. Make a note. Just check out their ad here. I usually have it in there right, except for when I don’t.

We love the Draft Choice. The food is second to none, and the servers always remember your name and what you drink. That’s impressive to me. Besides, the place is a local powerhouse for darts. Six boards, no waiting. Well, usually. Check ‘em out sometime for dinner and darts. Make some new friends.
