Stars in alignment every Friday night
By Ty Hughes
One of our favorite hangouts is Stars Bar & Grill on Pacific Hwy South in Federal Way. Everybody here is super friendly and it’s always an experience.
Val, the sexiest bartender in town, had all her customers chuckin’ quarters at her behind the bar. Well, they were aiming for the little tiny, itty-bitty jar she had there. Giggling, she says to me, “Isn’t great how I get them to just throw money at me?” Best idea I’ve seen yet, That’s gettin’ creative!
Over yonder, the music was blaring from the corner where George Hobson makes his living as Star’s hot shot karaoke host.
Darts have always been strong at Stars. They go way back, and tonight the entire Tacoma lady bunch came out to Federal Way for Stacy’s birthday and some downtime. Kim Allen, Louise, Jenny, Kelly, Marci, Lynette, they were all there. Alisa brought her daughter Tiffany who just shared a stage with, oh, I dunno, just the PRESIDENT OF THE USA! She was cleared to interpret President Obama for the deaf, but he was whisked away before she could shake his hand. Aw, but how cool is that?!
Louise and Duane were locked in a rousing Skeeball match. Stars moved their Skeeball to the middle of the room, and guess what? It’s making a killing! Louise’ high score of 340 just couldn’t be beat. Not tonight.
They also took out the wrap around booth that blocked the karaoke crowd and put in open seating. It’s very refreshing and easy to maneuver.
TJ is adamant that you grab your darts and join them for a fun dart tournament every single Friday night. Stars will fast become one of your favorite stops too, no doubt.
